Adams achieves its 'business objects'
Key information on retail sales and customer buying behaviour is being made more readily available to decision makers within one of the UK's leading childrenswear retailers, through the implementation of state of the art software by Nottinghamshire-based retail IT services specialist Retail Assist.
Adams Childrenswear, which has more than 400 outlets throughout the UK Ireland, the Middle East and Cyprus, is a long-standing client of Retail Assist and was seeking a software tool to enable greater in-depth analysis of sales information collected from its store network.
Retail Assist recommended the BusinessObjects package, which is now being rolled out across the company's Buying and Merchandising department, and will eventually allow fast access to up to 18 months of sales data.
In conjunction with Adam's JDA merchandising system, BusinessObjects will allow Adams to extract relevant sales and product data for detailed analysis, which will allow more in-depth reporting on key sales trends and the identification of key performance indicators.
The software can be deployed to meet the specific needs of users in buying and merchandising, being flexible enough to allow sales data to be compared for stores, regions, product lines and even styles. Reports can be presented as the user prefers, as tables of data or in a graphical format, with data exportable to Microsoft Excel for further manipulation.
Alan Morris, Business Development Director at Retail Assist, commented: "The benefits of the installation of BusinessObjects to Adams are potentially significant and far-reaching. "Not only will reporting of sales information become more efficient and effective, but there is the potential for reduced costs, more streamlined operations and increased revenue as a result of better understanding of customer buying behaviour and increased customer satisfaction leading to repeat business."
