Happy blogoversary to us!

Image available at www.sxc.huWell September is here and for me personally, Autumn usually brings back unpleasant memories of new school terms and allergic reactions to leaves falling from the trees (do I ever learn to stockpile antihistamines in advance though? Not a chance). This year however, we at Retail Assist are celebrating a more positive anniversary – that of our blog.

Traditionally, couples commemorate their first wedding anniversary by giving each other presents made from paper. As this is a digital medium, not a paper based one; we thought we would instead mark the occasion with a celebratory blog post. (Though if you are so inclined please feel free to send any anniversary ecards to info@retail-assist.co.uk!)

Back in our first ever update in September 2010, I promised readers “a number of regular and guest bloggers, with differing areas of expertise”. Other than myself, regular bloggers have included: Managing Director Alan Morris discussing Multichannel retailing, Managed Services Director Dan Smith examining selective outsourcing, Marketing Manager Alex Ievins focusing on retail marketing and Sales Manager Roger Bannister looking at retail in the USA.

Guest bloggers have included representatives from our clients Harvey Nichols and VUE Cinemas, Retail Assist Directors Nigel Illingworth and Gary Broughton, and of course various members of the wider Retail Assist team.

A particular highlight for the blog over the past year was appearing in Retail Systems magazine as part of their Blogosphere feature; as we hope that our updates are of interest to a wide audience, but particularly to those operating in the retail technology sector.

So thank you for reading our blog, and here’s to another year of updates. If there are any topics that you think we absolutely must feature before September 2012, please post your comments below, or tweet www.twitter.com/RetailAssist.
