Retail Assist goes European

Retail Information Technology outsourcing specialist, Retail Assist, has announced its support for one of the industry's most coveted achievement awards. The company has been named sponsor of the Best Use of Technology in an Emerging Business category at the 2005 European Retail Solutions Awards.

The award invites emerging businesses from across Europe to demonstrate their imagination and determination in implementing a technology solution which has brought positive benefits to the business and positioned it for future growth.

Retail Assist felt that it could identify strongly with this award category, both as a relatively young business and as a former award winner. Since its formation in 1999, Retail Assist has won two European Retail Solutions Awards:
  • 2004: Winner of the Retailer/Supplier Partnership of the Year with Rubicon Retail and Grantfort Computer Systems.
  • 2001: Winner of the Retailer/Supplier Partnership of the Year with Adams Childrenswear.

The company has found winning the awards invaluable in publicising its success to a broader market, including being recognised on a European scale.

Says Alan Morris, Managing Director at Retail Assist, "Younger businesses often achieve high levels of success but struggle to gain recognition and exposure. This is where securing an award is invaluable. By sponsoring this award, we will support businesses who have exploited technology in an innovative and measurable way in their early years as a springboard for growth."

With its first-hand experience of the challenges of successfully growing a business whilst maintaining responsiveness and closeness to customers, Retail Assist feels able to discern those companies that possess the characteristics of tomorrow's market leaders.

Continues Morris, "We understand the challenges of success. It comes down to achieving the right balance between growth and a consistently high level of customer service. We want to offer encouragement to younger companies who have used technology to real advantage in building their business."

Retail Assist was also recently named one of the Midlands fastest growing technology companies when it both ranked Number 17 in the 2004 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award and appeared on the company's European table, as a result of its 310% revenue growth over the past five years.

The company attributes its growth to an indepth understanding of the retail sector combined with strong client relationships, and expects to find similar attributes demonstrated by the nominees for the Best Use of Technology in an Emerging Business award.

Award winners will be announced at a ceremony which opens the European Retail Solutions exhibition, which this year is being held at the NEC Birmingham on June 7-9 2005.
